Ecology: Rivera Balsam is aware of the importance of deforestation presents in El Salvador, as well as global warming. With the intention to contribute to solve these problems we are working in the re-forestation of 304.40 acres of lands in the northern area of the country, and in the area of production of Peru Balsam (Balsam Coast) in the southern part of the country

J Raúl Rivera, President of the Corporation has been a strong supporter of the need of reforestation of this country. He has written many times in the news papers to educate the public about deforestation and the situation the country faces. He has claimed many times about the need that the Government provides incentives to the people to help with the reforestation of the country.

Education:

J Raúl Rivera S.A. de C.V. is convinced that through education is how El Salvador will achieve a stronger grown and development. The corporation donated to the Government 0.40 acres of land close to its Balsam plantation for the construction of a public school

Working with the producers and the workers:During the years 2003-2005 J Raúl Rivera S.A. de C.V.worked with Intervida from Italy providing training to the producers of Peru Balsam about the Good Practices of Production that up to that moment were defined.

The Corporation has been working with the small producers of Peru Balsam providing them with the necessary material to make a more quality and safety work.

Collaboration with GTZ , Fortalece Project.Rivera Balsam has four years of work with GTZ from Germany in the program Fortalece .This program is focused in improving the industry of Peru Balsam in order to achieve a higher level of life for the workers of the sector.

Collaboration with CONACYT :CONACYT is the governmental institution in charge of the defining,establishing and maintaining the standards of the different products that the country import and export. J Raúl Rivera S.A. de C.V. has been working with CONACYT for 3 years now to define the Good Practice Manual of Peru Balsam and the National Norm for the product. The next important task of the executives of the Corporations is to collaborate in the training of the workers of the sector in the following of the guidelines defined in the Good Practice Manual of Production of Peru Balsam.

Research and Development:J Raúl Rivera S.A. de C.V. is investing continuously in research of new processes to improve the quality of Peru Balsam. Also is actually working in new applications for the product in order to increase the demand of Peru Balsam, with this will contribute to create more labor for the sector.

Outstanding Exporter Award: J Raúl Rivera S.A. de C.V. was awarded by El Salvador Government as Outstanding Exporter of the year 2006-2007 by its entrepreneurial vision and its achievements in the exportation of Peru Balsam.
